In order to bring equilibrium in development of urban and rural areas in the state, it is necessary to take growth centers close to villages. Development of Smart Cities is an effective solution. These cities are not the existing towns or cities but semi-urban areas that will be planned as new cities. These new cities will have well planned infrastructure and will have conducive environment for industries. These cities will create business opportunities and will generate employment. This will help in easing burden on existing cities and will accelerate development of rural areas. Maharashtra has to have an integrated and cohesive plan for Smart Cities.
A strong road network means strong and rich Maharashtra! In the last many years, more money has been spent on maintenance of roads rather than creating new ones. A major revival of the state transport system is needed in the rural areas. Freight corridors from villages to commercial cities and airports to ensure smooth business, interconnecting five lane highways and creation of more Expressways is a must for business and tourism. Every village should be connected with a all seasoned road.
Uninterrupted access to electricity at reasonable rate for every farm, household and establishment needs to be ensured. Maharashtra has good potential for solar and other forms of renewable energy considering its geographical and climatic conditions. This potential needs to be utilized maximally. We must make the most of this and ensure we are planning more plants and electricity generating projects in our state.
